Find a cell phone on the floor and you will probably wonder about the person who has lost it and how you can  return it. There are some things you can do to find the owner. One is to call a phone number in the phone’s recent calls, explain the situation and hope they will tell you where the owner lives. If the phone is relatively new, there may be few numbers in the directory, or maybe nobody answers when you call the numbers. When this happens, you can find the owner of a cell phone using a different method, but may not know how to do this successfully.

The best way to find the owner, without much effort is to go online and use a telephone number reverse lookup. Give yourself a “missed call” and observe the number that flashes on your Caller ID. Then enter the phone number in your reverse search and wait for it to give results.

Once you find a good match to the number that was submitted you can get the name and address of the person who owns the phone. Then you can contact them and give them back their phone. Imagine how happy they will be when they know you found their phone and plan to return it. Now that you know how to find the owner of a cell phone, the next time you find one on the street, you know what to do.
